What should I wear?
In keeping with our Nuit Blanche theme, we would love for everyone to come dressed in black and white. This is a classy event, so please wear your best cocktail attire. Our black and white theme even opens the door to dust off your tux if you have one!
What are we eating?
We will have passed Hors d'Oeuvres during the cocktail hour followed by a three-course dinner.
Is the food good?
Have you eaten at Redbird downtown? The food is nothing short of incredible. The chefs and owners of Redbird also own Vibiana. Vibiana’s food is prepared in the same kitchen by the same staff as Redbird. We know you will enjoy your meal.
Will I need to buy drinks?
This event will have an open bar, so drinks are included in your ticket price. As usual, you may want to have some cash in order to tip your favorite bartender.
Will there be a gift bag?
Yes! Please help us out by letting us know of anyone that would like to include an item or coupon/certificate.
They will receive a tax receipt and great advertising!
How many people are attending?
Vibiana has a capacity of 500 people and we would love to see a full house!
What/who is the entertainment?
Music during the cocktail hour will be provided by Simon Helberg (Big Bang Theory, Florence Foster Jenkins) at the piano.
Make sure to arrive in time to enjoy our full cocktail hour in the beautiful Vibiana Courtyard.

Who will be attending?
The Gala is for our LILA community AND friends of LILA. Anyone can buy tickets and join us, so invite your friends and associates for a fun night out.
Why should I arrive on time for the Cocktail Hour?
Vibiana has a beautiful courtyard where we will be hosting the Cocktail Hour. There will be an open bar, hors d’oeuvres, and music provided by Simon Helberg at the piano.
Why can’t I get a tax receipt for the entire cost of my ticket/table/sponsorship?
According to Federal tax laws, the School can only provide a receipt for the amount of your donation, which is the price of your ticket minus the cost of your meal and drinks (fair market value).
Can I sit with my friends?
There will be an opportunity to request the other guests at your table of 10 (please confirm with them first), BUT all parties must purchase their tickets within 48 hours of each other to guarantee you will all be at the same table. You do not have to fill a table, you can request that a party of 6 be seated together and we will assign the other guests.
Can I pick my table location?
Tables will be assigned in a fair manner. People who purchase full tables will receive priority, and then individually purchased tickets will be assigned tables based on first come, first serve. So, don’t wait to buy your tickets!
Can I tell my non-LILA friends about this event?
Yes! Please do. You do not have to be a LILA family to attend this event. All are welcome.
When will I know who is at my table?
If you purchase a full table – right away. If you request to sit with people, and everyone purchases their tickets within 48 hours, we will confirm these guests at your table. If you are fewer than 10 people, we cannot confirm the rest of your table until the night of the event. Individual tickets and couples will see their seat assignments on the night of the gala.
Seating assignments are one of the most difficult things to manage at an event of this size. We will try our very best to keep everyone happy, but kindly ask for your cooperation in keeping this process as easy as possible.
Will I get a tax receipt for my purchase?
In order to be issued a tax receipt, you MUST be the primary purchaser, so your information is entered into the ticketing platform. If you have a friend buy the ticket for you and you reimburse them, we will not be able to give you a receipt.
For single tickets of $350, you will receive a tax receipt for $250.
Table sponsorships are slightly different and you should consult your accountant.
We will provide you with a tax receipt for $4,000, however, if you are purchasing this as a business expense, you may be entitled to deduct 100%.
Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes. We will accomodate everyone.
Can I change my table on the night of the gala?
Sorry, that won't be possible. After months of planning, it would simply be too difficult to make such changes on event night.
What are the funds raised being used for?
Funds raised at the gala will be used to launch The Endowment Fund for LILA. Proceeds from ticket sales and auction receipts will be added to the Unrestricted Endowment Fund.
What is an Endowment Fund?
An endowment fund is an investment fund that holds its princpal in perpetuity and pays out a portion of its earnings each year to support, for example, campus operations and programs. Endowment investments have dual goals: to grow the principal and to generate income. With our gala, we are seeding the initial principal of the Endowment Fund for LILA with proceeds and donations from the event. As LILA's endowment grows with future donations, it will become a significant source of annual income for LILA. We are taking the first steps!
How often will LILA be hosting a gala?
The last time LILA hosted a fundraising gala was 8 years ago. The 2019 gala is being held in conjunction with the School’s 40th anniversary. Going forward, the School plans to host a gala every fifth anniversary. So, the next gala will be during LILA's 45th anniversary year in 2024.
How do I register to bid for the live and silent auction?
The gala ticket sales and auction will be run on the same platform, so once you purchase your tickets, your information will already be in the auction system, making things run smoothly. No further action on your part is required.
If you did not make the purchase for your tickets:
The purchaser may have entered your contact information at the time of purchase. You will then be contacted in order to complete your registration in advance of the evening.
The purchaser may not have entered your contact information at the time of purchase. LILA will attempt to contact you once confirmation of your attendance is received from the purchaser. You will then be contacted in order to complete your registration in advance of the evening.
If all else fails, there will be an option to register at check-in. Registration in advance is highly encouraged. (We wouldn't want you to miss out on cocktail hour!)
I can’t make it to Nuit Blanche but I believe in building an endowment for the school, can I donate directly to The Endowment Fund for LILA?
